Last week I spoke about Linked In metrics so now it’s time to mention my favourite platform, Twitter. Twitter suits my personal style and was the main source of 1/3 of my referrals in my accountancy practice. But Twitter isn’t for everybody because, to use it well, you need to invest a great deal of time which you may decide is better spent elsewhere.
Here are some things to check on your Twitter profile:
- Up to date, professional headshot
- Interesting bio as a conversation starter
- Link to your website in your bio
- Posting approximately 1/3 general business, 1/3 personal to show your human side, 1/3 about your own business
- As with face to face networking ask questions and be interested in the responses
- Social media is about networking NOT selling
